Mike Edward Devera Ilano • I am weird but hey it makes me unique. • I am the only child that bears my Father’s last name out of my 4 brothers. • My favorite subjects in school are Science and Art. • Personality wise I am very childish, however I am capable of being serious. • I never dwell in my past actions. • I love toys and computer games (Elsword Online) • I love hanging out my Friends.

High School Involvements • AJROTC (Drum Corps Varsity Commander, Company Commander) • Academic League (Science/ Greek Mythology person) • Debate Club • Supporter of Morse Choir. • Junior Panelist for Senior Exhibition • JROTC Events: Cadet Picnic

Post-Secondary Goals: Education (Plan A) • Community College (Southwestern or Grossmont for General Education) • Transfer to a University such as SDSU or UCLA for Science majors • Nursing program
Plan B • Go into the navy after high school • Go to community college (Grossmont or Southwestern) • 4 year college where ever I am stationed in. • Nursing programs • Nurse Anesthetist
Education Cont. • Majors= Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, maybe Physics. • Minors= Art or Education. • I love Science, my way of life and thinking is based on Science. Even some of my Art projects. • Science is my favorite subject and its because there is still always something to learn. • My minor in art is opposite of how I think however I believe art is where the human mind can relieve itself to achieve piece of mind.
Post-Secondary Goals: Career • Nurse Anesthetist • 10 plus years in the U.S. Navy as an officer in the Medical Field. • Part time Artist when I am a CRNA (certified Nurse Anesthetist) • To be Doctor in Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry.
ESLR – EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATOR • Read, write, speak, listen, and respond thoughtfully: • Junior Panelist for Senior Exhibitions- • Listened to Seniors present their PowerPoint • Wrote down comments about their presentations • Spoke to them and asked questions about any other significant experiences in their High school life that still effects them today.
ESLR – EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATOR • Utilize technology appropriately for communication: Creating PowerPoint Projects in my classes- • Using Microsoft PowerPoint as a visual aid to help facilitate information about me to an audience. • Ex. Junior Exhibition (In Progress) • Ex. Falvo’s Chemistry PPT: Water Pollution in Instanbul, Turkey.
ESLR – THINK CRITICALLY AND PROBLEM SOLVE • Demonstrate ability to use reasoning skills to solve complex problems within content-area standards • Using Geometry methods to successfully make my Art Projects an exemplary example of symmetry. • Using Background Knowledge for essays, essay responses, EAP and Reports for school.
ESLR – THINK CRITICALLY AND PROBLEM SOLVE • Utilize technology appropriately to gain information and solve problems • Honors Chemistry- For all the labs in Falvo’s class we used a Eudiometer (used to measure volume of gasses at STP), spectrophotometer (used to measure transmittance or reflectance of solutions.)….etc. • To observe and record the experiments reaction, then use the recorded information to prove/disprove our hypothesis. • JCLC (JROTC Cadet Leadership camp): utilizing a compass to go around the mountain and find the checkpoint.
ESLR – RESPONSIBLE CITIZEN • Demonstrate an understanding of how to maintain a healthy lifestyle: • Expressing my emotions or inspiration through my art projects for class or for myself. • Exercising and playing games an example would be Cadet Picnic or PT (physical training) on Monday’s and Fridays plus PT during after school practices.
ESLR – RESPONSIBLE CITIZEN • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and independent learning: • Drum Corps Cadences (learning and making them.) • Unarmed Fancy Drill Team salutes and beats. • Spinning the DC Mace.
Closing Reflection & Thoughts • What I learned throughout my years of HS: • Learned how to be a better leader/person • Hard work does pay off • Time is relative to how you spend it. • Being an Adult is more than always being right. • A little respect and patience can go a long way. • Help is always there, it only presents itself when you ask. • Responsibility is earned, the result is Maturity. • Do not let your life revolve around one thing.
