  6. Tarrant County Statistics 1 in 5 adults in Tarrant Co. (200,000 +) cannot read well enough to succeed at a 4th grade level. Less than 10,000 adults are enrolled in a literacy program. Nearly half of adults in the study read at a “Basic” or “Below Basic” level. TarrantLiteracyCoalition.org
