  2. End of Course Exams • Only graduation exit exams will be administered during the first and second sessions • Algebra I and II • English 11 and 12 Reading (for students who have not yet passed SBA) • Social Studies • NM History • US History • World History • Economics • Government • Writing – we are going to get a count of students to see if we need to administer this assessment

  3. Test Security – The Dos • We must abide by all the standard test security requirements • Everyone must sign the non-disclosure form at the end of this training • The non-disclosure form affirms that you: • attended test security training, • will actively proctor your students while they are testing • will administer the test according to the directions provided by PED

  4. Active Proctoring • Please make sure anything you have posted in the room that addresses instructional concepts is either down or covered. • No cell phones during testing – students may give them to you or put them in their back packs. • Personal calculators are permissible if the teacher clears the calculator before and after the testing. • Students must be supervised at all times during testing – restroom breaks are permitted if students are escorted to the restroom and enter one student at a time. • Tests must be secure at all times – with you or in a locked room.

  5. Test Security – The Don’ts • School staff may: • not access the test before the test administration • not discuss the test with students, other teachers, or others in general • This refers to not discussing the test items in particular • you are free to make non-specific comments • (yes, you can tell someone the test is full of mistakes) • (No, you cannot tell them which items had mistakes)

  6. Testing Dates First session • Final list of students from SIS will be sent 6/20 • Order tests by 6/23 • Test administration is 6/30 and 7/1 • Last date for a student/parent to opt out is June 23 Second Session • Final list of students from SIS will be sent 7/16 • Order tests by 7/17 • Test administration is 7/24-25 • Last day to opt out is 7/17

  7. Who Will Test • Any student who is taking a course in the listed areas will take the end of course tests • Unless the student has already passed the required end of course exam in writing or social studies. Where do the scores go? • First session will be late but will be available in Data Director as soon as it is up and running • Second session scores will be available in Data Director immediately upon scanning them. • As we understand now, we must submit a STARS report to PED at the end of Summer School; these scores will be attached to teachers’ TeachScape files

  8. Testing Materials • Testing booklets will be provided about just before the testing window. • Teachers will be expected to sign out test booklets and account for these at all times. • Student answer documents will be printed at Instructional Accountability because Data Director is down. • Students will answer on standard answer document (bubble sheets). • Students who need to write in the booklet may do so, but please transcribe their answers to an answer document for scoring. • For second session, students may test on-line if the technology is available to you; if not, test on paper.

  9. Scoring • For the first session, Data Director will be down for maintenance so tests will be scanned as soon as the system is available. • If we administer the writing, we will offer stipends to teachers who are interested in scoringat the end of each session of summer school. • Second Session, Data Director will be up and running and all answer documents except writing may be scanned and scored at the site. • Assessment will offer training to school staff for scanning and on line testing.

  10. Returning materials • Each teacher must return their testing materials to the designated person at their site immediately after testing. • Teachers will be expected to sign in and account for all test mateirals including unused answer documents as well as all test booklets. • Testing Services will pick up the scorable materials and the extra materials the last day of each summer session.
