  1. The Sphinx by Stephanie Bravo and Ashley Wilkerson The great Sphinx, a symbol of strength and power, is one of the largest sculptures in the world. The Sphinx is the length of an average city block. Carving the Sphinx presented a different set of problems and took months, if not years, to complete. The great Sphinx has stood guard over this royal Egyptian cemetery for almost 450 years. That means it was already 250 years old when Jesus was born. Giblin, James Cross. Secrets of the Sphinx.
