Quote: Represents books: • The Dr. Seuss quote represents books and reading, even though hard books are not a new technology, it is still important to have hard books be an important part to the 21st century learner’s life. Some students might not be able to have access to computers or internet but everyone can go to a library and rent a book. Also some students may not be able to read the little print of the internet so it is always important to have other options. • Kendal: • Kendal’s are great for the 21st century learner for many reasons. Students have the ability to get e-books for Kendal’s witch can be helpful to many. Kendal’s are also good because you can get educational games for students. Kendal’s are a new technology that can make many students life’s easier. • I-Pads: • I-pads can help the 21st century learner in many ways. Students can take notes, get internet access, play educational games, and have access to books online as well as so much more. I-pads are smaller to carry around then a big computer making it a great importance to the 21st learner.
Computers: • I think that computers play a big part in the 21st century learner. Students must be able to work a computer to access the internet, uses Microsoft word, and make power points. Computers are the biggest technology advancement for the 21st century learner to understand. • Smart boards: • Smart boards are a new technology in schools that I think is very important to the 21st century learner. The smart board can get students involved in ways they could not before. It is useful for the 21st century learner because it increases motivation and allows enjoyment to technology. • Internet: • The internet is the simple, fastest and most comely used way for students of the 21st century to learn and get information. The internet gives students the world with the click of a button, being able to understand and know how to uses the internet helps the 21st century learner succeed in today’s educational world.
Games: • For the 21st century learner it is important for students to play games and interact with other students to improve their knowledge. Games can provide competition between students and help learners follow rules to attain a goal. It also can be a great way for students to learn beyond notes. • Class Room Discussions: • Making sure that students are communicating in the class room is sure to improve the student’s knowledge’s. Discussions can help students exchange ideas and opinions between students and teachers. It also allows the students to get away from the boring note taking type of teaching. • Microsoft Word: • The 21st century learner must know how to use Microsoft word to be a great success in school. Now-a-days everything is to be typed so that it is readable, Depending on a student’s handwriting this is very helpful, but one must be able to know how Microsoft works before they can turn anything into a teacher, for the most part. • YouTube: • Having videos at the tip of your finger for the 21st century learner is a great tool to uses. Having the ability to watch and learn from a clip off the internet or getting to watch a part of a movie required for a class can all be found on one web site. YouTube is a great tool for the 21st learner.
