Health Policy Team • Purpose: To provide broad and specialist policy analysis and recommendations on issues key to the health care sector • Focus: Advocacy relations and developing partnerships between healthcare stakeholders that support interprofessional collaborative models of care that include chiropractic
Health Policy Team • We provide direct support to members: • Pursuing interprofessional collaborative (IPC) relationships • Assists members in interprofessional environments with practice management related matters • Develops, implements and evaluates new IPC models of care that include chiropractic • Sharing relevant news, publications, reports and policy activities to create a better understanding of the overall health system
Recent Success • Primary Health Care Collaboration: • Both the Clinical/Business Case and the one-to-one support have been positively received and demonstrated real impact. Specifically, these initiatives have led to chiropractic collaboration with at least 10% of FHTs • New IPC models of care that include chiropractic: • Consulting Chiropractic Role in Primary Care Demonstration Project • Interprofessional Spine Assessment and Education Clinics
OCA Advocacy • Advertising • Last year the OCA Created a new ad • The ad will run again early in 2013 • Media Awareness • 2011-2012 was a banner year • 66 Million media impressions • Increase of 45 % • Just completed a very successful partnership with Chatelaine magazine
