DO Problem: Wait time for first appointment and initial intake is 6 weeks for both a mental health and AODA evaluation. Strategy: Implement 2 Walk in intake slots per day for AODA and Mental Health intakes.
Reduce wait times for outpatient mental health and substance abuse services RESULTS Results : 2 week reduction in wait times for initial appointments for AODA and Mental health intakes in the outpatient clinic
Sustainability • Clients are evaluated sooner for needed level of care thus reducing possible need for an inpatient hospitalization for detoxification • Clients receive services at time of need and follow through with services and appointments • Reduction in wait times may decrease 11.68% no show rate
