  3. Remember We learned about action parts of a sentence. The action part of a sentence is made of the words that tell what a person or thing does.

  4. Remember • A verb is a word that shows action.

  5. Remember • An action word or verb is something you can do.

  6. Did you know? • Do not add –s to a verb that tells what two or more people, animals, or things do now.

  7. Example • Colin and Alicia go to college. • Go is the action verb.

  8. Example • Rick and Cheryl like Piglet. • Like is the action verb in the sentence.

  9. Example • Grady and Toto watch the game. • Watch is the action verb.

  10. Let’s Practice • Circle the verb that shows more than one. • 1. Carl and Jan (move, moves) to a new house. • 2. They (sees, see) Annie. • 3. Jim and Annie (bring, brings) a gift. • 4. They (talks, talk) to Carl and Jan. • 5. Carl and Jan (like, likes) their new neighbors.
