Social Media at the National Archives • Actively using Social Media since June 2009 • Mission of Preservation of Access • In 2012 • More than 140 external projects on 18 platforms • 33.2 million views through social media platforms in FY 2012 • 979 staff members involved as social media contributors in FY12 • 865 NARA staff and volunteers on internal wikis • More than 79 internal projects on 3 platforms, and 3,469 members on our Internal Collaboration Network

Pinterest Policies • Comment and posting policy and privacy policy need to be linked to account page • Interested content contributors will get the log in information from the Social Media Team • Liking is encouraged, but only repin NARA content • Only follow accounts that have similar missions to NARA- no personal accounts! • Group boards: same rules as following policy • Be aware of the other pinners in group board (don’t stay in a board that we don’t want to be associated with)

Best Practices • Have fun and be creative, but remember that we are educated professionals (if u culd refrain, thatd b gr8 :-)) • Engage with users when thoughtful comments are left on pins • Follow Pinterest’s Pin-ettiquette http://about.pinterest.com/basics/#etiquette • Keep the social media team in the loop, and use our collaboration space
