  3. Banner 9 Student was installed on June 10th and will be released to all Banner users soon. • Banner 9 will provide a more modern and user-friendly experience. Changes are generally cosmetic in nature and all Banner functionality will remain intact. What?

  4. Vendor support for the current version of Banner (Banner 8) terminates at the end of 2018, making the move to Banner 9 a necessity. • Banner 8 will no longer be available at UNH/GSC as of October 31st Why?

Improved User Experience • Modern web user interface with standard controls • Shorter learning curve for occasional users • Enhanced usability and navigation for power users • Ability to run in any modern browser • For the best performance avoid using IE (Internet Explorer). Don’t use IE – it’s an old browser • For now, IE is still needed for Xtender if you need to annotate, scan, or index documents • Do not use forward and back buttons on browser • If you’re not where you expect, click the Home icon on left menu to take you to the Landing Page • To make searches quicker, use “Starts With” or “Equals” and make the search a “Case Sensitive Query” if that option is available.   14. Sometimes the predictive search will take you to the wrong page (form)—sometimes nothing will load in this case. The vendor fix will be applied soon. • To return to AppNav, click the Home icon • Don’t open Banner 9 until you’re ready to use a Page (formerly Form). You may be signed out if you don’t go to a Page. • Xtender requires IE and an additional sign-in.
