Status Message Switching System (continuation) • Shortcomings • Since operational innumerable software bugs were found. So far many patches were installed. Some of the problems still persists. • Low performance for the data volume that RTH Buenos Aires manages. • Inefficient technical Support. • Curently TDCF/TAC features are not supported. • Starting from the next month RTH Bs. As. is going to count on aTrial version of IBL Moving Weather software.
Status Internet • Internet Conventional • Bandwith 17 Mbps. • Autonomous system. • Internet2(no commercial) • Bandwith 2 Mbps • Email • Used internaly to collect both land and sea based observations. • Used to disseminate commertial products and uncommertial public services. • Used as a backup to comunicate GTS Data with other NMCs Centres. • FTP • Widely used internaly and externaly(sftp)

Status IMTN As it is very well known it is expected RTH Buenos Aires (and Brasilia) join Cloud I in a short time, so that some effors are made to include budgetary for the next year.
Goals • GTS • Urge NMCs joint the new RMDCN project proposal (whatever it be). • Encourage NMCs to install IBL METDATA Software in order to implement IWM. • Suggest NMCs to implement an eficcient mechanism to collect/diseminate their own internal data. • Recommend installations of VPN (Ipsec tunnels) replacing current NMCs plain Internet access. • For a better outcomes would be appropiated address thelast issues to a PR level.
Relevant Facts • Migration of land and X25 satelital links to TCP/IP. • Expanding of Internet Bandwith (14 to 17 Mbps) • Multiple agreements with universities, public and private organism and institutions, etc, preparing the ground to become a DCPC. • Strong authoritie’s support to WMO programms.
