  1. TírnanÓg A Traditional Irish Legend

  2. One day Oisin, Caoilte and Conan went hunting with their father the Fianna and the hounds. The hounds were called Bran, Sceolan and Lomair, they chased a deer around the edge of a lake.

  3. The White Horse They saw coming across the water a big white horse and a beautiful lady called NiamhCinnÓir. Oisin thought that she was so lovely that he fell in love with her. She said she was searching for Oisin. He was very surprised.

  4. Going to TirnanOg Óisin and Niamh rode back over the waves to TirnanÓg after saying goodbye to the Fíanna and the hounds. They met the King in TirnanÓg and he told them that no one ever gets old in this land.

  5. The Wedding Óisin marries NiamhCinnÓir in TirnanÓg. They were very happy and in love. At first Oisin did not miss his home, or his family.

  6. The dream Oisin started dreaming about his home. He told his wife that he was unhappy and that he wanted to visit his home. She begged him not to leave. But finally she said if you go, take my horse but do not get off his back, or put your feet on Irish ground or you will never come back to me. He climbed on her horse and rode off.

  7. Óisin falls from the horse Óisin meets some people and tries to help them move a heavy stone. He doesn’t want to touch the ground because Niamh had warned him not too let his feet touch the ground. He falls from the horse. He turned into a wizened old man with a long white beard . The beautiful white horse vanished.

  8. Old Man The people lifted the old man and brought him to Saint Patrick. There he told St Patrick stories about Ireland when he was young, of his family and his history. St Patrick told him stories in return about Jesus and his appostles.
