  1. Sampling Plans

  2. Three types of Sampling Plans • Sampling Inspection by attributes • MIL-STD-105E (ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 – 1981) • Sampling Inspection by variables • MIL-STD-414 (ANSI/ASQC Z1.9 – 1980) • Dodge-Roming

  3. MIL-STD-105E

  4. Single sampling plans for Normal Inspection MIL-STD-105E

  5. Single sampling plans for Tighten Inspection MIL-STD-105E

  6. Single sampling plans for Reduced Inspection MIL-STD-105E

  7. Given Sampling Plan Single Inspection Level II Lot size 4500 AQL 1% Sampling Condition Normal; Tightened; Reduced There are 15 lots ( for a lot of 4500 products) to be inspected, the number of defectives is 3,4,2,5,2,3,5,4,3,1,3,6,7,3,2. Will the lots be accepted or rejected?

  8. Given Sampling Plan Single Inspection Level III Lot size 50000 AQL 1.5% Sampling Condition Normal; Tightened; Reduced There are 15 lots ( for a lot of 50000 products) for inspection, the number of defectives is 13,20,21,22,23,23,23,25,13,21,23,22,17,14,12. Will the lots be accepted or rejected?

  9. MIL-STD-414(Single Specification Limit – Form1) • AQL • Code Letter • Sample size n • k Value (acceptability constant) • For QL = x – L or Qu = U – x ≧k • For QL = x – L or Qu = U – x <k Accept S S Reject S S

  10. Given a lot of 5000 hygrister. Normal inspection (Level II) is to be used (MIL-STD-414, Single Specification Limit Form 1) with AQL=0.65%. Please determine how many units from the lot should be inspected? • For the mean of the sampling is 9.90 ohmage with standard deviation of 0.25 ohmage. The lower specification is 10-0.5 ohmage. Will this lot be accepted or not? • For the mean of the sampling is 10.2 ohmage with standard deviation of 0.20 ohmage. The lower specification is 10-0.5 ohmage. Will the lot be accepted or not?

  11. Given a lot of 52000 hygrister. Normal inspection (Level II) is to be used (MIL-STD-414, Single Specification Limit Form 1) with AQL=1.0%. Please determine how many units from the lot should be inspected? • For the mean of the sampling is 5.0 ohmage with standard deviation of 0.10 ohmage. The upper specification is 5+0.5 ohmage. Will this lot be accepted or not? • For the mean of the sampling is 5.3 ohmage with standard deviation of 0.40 ohmage. The lower specification is 5-0.4 ohmage. Will the lot be accepted or not?

  12. MIL-STD-414(Single Specification Limit – Form2) • AQL • Code Letter • Sample size n • M Value • For PL or Pu ≦M Accepted • For PL or Pu >M Rejected

  13. Single Specification Form 2 or Double Specification MIL-STD-414

  14. The defective percentage estimated from QL and Qu
