  2. Instructions 1. Cut a 4-inch limb to length with a knife. Trim smaller branches from the limb with a knife and cut the limb to a length of 8-feet.

  3. Instructions 2. Place the limb against a tree trunk at a 45-degree angle. Choose a tree such as an oak or beechnut in a location where squirrels are active. Watch the area to determine frequently traveled paths to the tree.

  4. instruction 3. Unroll a length of snare wire with a formed loop on one end and a straight end on the other. Wrap the straight end around the limb. Twist the free end around the main snare wire length to securely attach the wire around the limb. Form the twist at the bottom of the limb.

  5. Instruction 4. Bend the snare wire around the side of the limb. Open the loop on the snare wire so it is at least 5-inches across.

  6. Instruction 5. Position the bottom of the loop no more than 2-inches above the limb. Place a small amount of bait such as peanut butter to either side of the limb as bait.
