  2. Foundation of BPW Budapest Club, 2005 • No local organization of BPW existed before • although according to market surveys Hungarian men are more tolerant towards women than the average

  3. Foundation President Ilse Spritzendorfer, representatives of BPW Vienna, BPW Austria and BPW Germany personally assisted in forming the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Budapest.

  4. BPW BUDAPEST – ANDRÁSSY SALOON In addition to everyday activities we organize the BPW BUDAPEST – ANDRÁSSY SALOON every 3rd Wednesday in the month • Programs: • Interviews • Consultations • Mentoring • Dance, talks

Activities at national level • BPW Budapest’s representatives took part in the National Economic Consultation process, preceding the elections this spring • We delivered messages about the role of businesswomen in modernizing the decision-making process in Hungarian political economics – good publicity

  6. BPW BUDAPEST – ANDRÁSSY SALOON • Thanks to the environment provided by our sponsor as well as to the interesting topics usually many „outsiders” participate at the meetings

  7. Next steps • Organizing local BPW clubs all over the country • Recruiting young members to maintain the „freshness” of the organization • Extending our local activities to the international level – Danube Net

  8. BPW DANUBE-NET Conference • The idea for the Danube Net originated in autumn 2004 with the aim of twinning BPW Clubs in Germany with Clubs which had already been set up in a number of Eastern European countries. • As the Danube links so many countries in eastern and western Europe, it was decided to name the project after it. Today, twinning is only one part of the Danube Net’s activities. Marion Volk
