SUMMARY OF SURVEY FINDINGS 135 MS IV students asked to complete a survey in Jan 2008 98 or 75% of the students returned the completed survey 44% were female 55% were male 51% were married 94% planned on entering a residency immediately upon graduation 2% were going to pursue another opportunity prior to residency. 17% were from Toledo 66% were from Ohio UT College of Medicine MS IV Student Survey 16

SUMMARY OF SURVEY FINDINGS 47% planned to pursue a career in primary care of these 12% Family Medicine 12% Internal Medicine 22% Pediatrics 59% indicated that they would pursue subsequent fellowship training 31% of those surveyed intended to practiced in an underserved area. SUMMARY OF SURVEY FINDINGS 2% of the respondents indicated that their first choice is UTMC 4% said they would prefer a program in any Toledo/NWO. 34% preferred to seek residencies in the state of Ohio 61% preferred to seek residencies outside of Ohio. 9% indicated they would prefer to practice in Toledo/NWO 41% indicated they would prefer to practice in Ohio UT College of Medicine MS IV Student Survey 18

UT College of Medicine MS IV Student Survey SUMMARY OF SURVEY FINDINGS (Ohio Students Only) 3% of the respondents indicated that their first choice is UTMC 6% said they would prefer a program in any Toledo/NWO. 44% preferred to seek residencies in the state of Ohio 56% preferred to seek residencies outside of Ohio. 12% indicated they would prefer to practice in Toledo/NWO 54% indicated they would prefer to practice in Ohio 19
