Websites for The Visually Impaired By Drevon Gayle-Lynch Jermaine Ray Edwina Ajala Jamil Mohammed
Presentation Aims • Who will use this service • Can this be accessible for all websites • Will this benefit the user? • Will this have an affect for existing companies • Evaluation
Who will use this service The website is deigned for users who have problems with there eyes whether they are colour blind where they find it difficult to recognise different colours. Or problems in viewing images on text on the website.
Can this be accessible for all websites With the software used in our system which enables users to access websites who problem with their eyesight. It would be very easy to implement into every website. However unfortunately we would not be allowed to add this feature to other websites because in doing so companies may breach their terms and conditions which they may have signed for the development of their websites.
Will This Benefit The User The whole system is designed to benefit the user making sure that the user is able to use the internet and access websites in the same manner as everybody else with no complications.
Will this have an affect on existing companies With the introduction of a system that is designed to help users who are visually impaired it will have an positive affect for online companies because they would receive a greater increase of users accessing their websites because they would have the software which would enable users to access their websites without no limitations.
Evaluation • Upon the information gathered from my prototype there is clear information that suggest that the software used to allow users which are visually impaired will be a success. • Information that supports this statement would be that it is providing a practical service for users which are visually impaired and making sure that no website discriminates against any user. • Another point which suggest that the service will be a success is that by installing the visual impaired software on their websites it will allow more users to access their websites because there would be no limitations. Giving companies to access a much wider audience.
However despite the arguments indicating that the visually impaired software will be very successful their is evidence showing that this could be a waste of money and will not have an positive affect on both users and companies. software One of arguments was that most websites may not be able to install the visual impaired software because this may affect the companies current terms and agreements with their developers and may cost them large amounts of money and maybe their reputation.
Conclusion • After reviewing both the positives and negatives of the visually impaired system I came to the conclusion that have the visually impaired system installed on every website can only have a positive for both users and companies by making sure that the world wide web is available to all users.
