The use of paper worldwide has risen 400% in the past 40 years • Deforestation • 40% of United States waste is paper-based • Many old growth forests are being cut down to serve the needs of paper consumers • Less trees and more waste products leads to polution of freshwater as well as less oxygen in the atmosphere The Consequences

  7. Schools and companies can use technology based methods of communication such as the Cloud • Use recycled paper • Avoid printing items that aren't vital; print double-sided Solutions & Alternatives

  10. Mr. Franks makes us print 10 chapters of notes per year. Each set of Notes takes between 8 and 20 pieces of paper. 16+10+16+16+8+12+16+15+14+20 =143 pieces of paper per student per year 143 x 100 students =14300 pieces of paper per year Let’s do Some Math
