  2. Yuzhmash objectives • Yuzhmash is the company working in aerospace field that is why Yuzhmash seeks to extend the number of its programs in aerospace field • Yuzhmash is interested to have the long term relationships with new partners to extend its portfolio of products

List of Yuzhmash customers in aerospace field • Customers of Yuzhmash Launch Vehicles (LV) • Zenit LV: Russian Space Agency, Energia Logistics Ltd (under Sea Launch Program), SIS Company (under Land Launch Program), TsENKI (under Lybid’ Program) • Dnepr LV: (converted SS-18 missile): Kosmotras Company (Russia) • Antares LV: (tanks for the 1st stage of Antares LV) Orbital Sciences Corporation (USA) • Cyclone-4 LV: State Space Agency of Ukraine, Alcantara Cyclone Space Company • Customers of Yuzhmash satellites: Russian Space Agency, State Space Agency of Ukraine, Government of Egypt • Customers of Yuzhmash space related products: • AVIO (Italy): main engine of Vega LV upper stage • Khrunichev (Russia): high-pressure bottles for Proton LV • Customers of Yuzhmash landing gears for AN-140 and AN-148 planes: • OJSC «Voronezh aircraft building joint-stock company» (Russia) • State Enterprise «Kyiv Aviation Plant «Aviant» (Ukraine)

Certificates owned by Yuzhmash in aerospace field • In 2007 Yuzhmash space-rocket production was certified in ISO 9001-2001 standard • Certification was performed by Certification body State Enterprise “State Science and Engineering Center of Space Engineering Certification” (Kharkov, Ukraine) • This certificate covers all production of space-rocket hardware and it is also extended on production of landing gear sets and warranty services of space-rocket systems made by Yuzhmash • Yuzhmash production is under independent quality control performed by special representative office of National Space Agency of Ukraine (Dnepropertovsk representative office of General Customer – SSAU (DPGZ-SSAU)) • For example, Orbital has a contract with SSAU for DPGZ-SSAU control of Yuzhmash production under Antares program

Technical info of Yuzhmash manufacturing capabilities: General data • Yuzhmash has more than 10’500 machines for all range of machining • Main part of the machines were produced by the following companies: • OKUMA (Japan) • WEILER, MaxMuller (Germany) • DOOSAN (Southern Korea) • EBOSA, AGIE (Switzerland) • OLIVETTI, TACCHI (Italy) • HARTFORD (Taiwan)

  7. Yuzhmash machinery equipment: High-performance lathes • Puma series’ High-performance NC Turning Lathes of Doosan Company (S. Korea) • Max diameter of processing – 400mm • Max length of processing – 1280mm • 12-position revolver head with driving tools

Yuzhmash machinery equipment: NC Vertical-milling centers • High speed NC vertical-milling centers of Okuma Company (Japan) and Hartford Company (Taiwan) for processing of high-precision details (including stamps and moulds) with dimensions up to 2000х800х600 mm. • Processing centers: • Horizontal high-precision processing centers of Okuma Company (Japan) и Doosan Company (S. Korea) with dimensions up to 2000х1500х1500 mm, discreteness 0,0010 • Multifunctional turning lathes – drilling 5 coordinate processing centers of MAS Kovosvit Company (Czech) • Max diameter of processing– 690 мм • Max length of processing– 1690 мм • discreteness 0,0010

  9. Yuzhmash machinery equipment: Other machining equipment • Universal NC round-grinding machine of TOS a.s. (Czech): • It allows to grind the details with diameter up to 1100 mm, with length up to 3000 mm, and makes internal processing • Agiecut and Agietron electrical-discharge machine of AGIE Company (Swizerland) which can process the details of complex shape with sizes up to 880х680х350 mm • Precession plate-measuring device of WENZEL Company • Facilities to perform the cold stamping and hot forging works on the press with force up to 2500 t.

Yuzhmash Technologies:Contact Butt Welding • Welding of steel and aluminium surfaces with cross-section in rate of 200mm2 up to 100’000mm2(from 0,3in2 up to 155in2), tank sections with diameter 1,8m up to 4,0m (from 6ft up to 13 ft) • Min thickness of welded parts is 6 mm. • Welding process is completely automatic • Strength of welds is 1 • Contact Butt Welding has replaced riveting resulting in weight decreasing of structures

  11. Yuzhmash Technologies:Satellite testing facilities • Modeling of temperature – vacuum conditions of outer space including: • Sun radiation • IR radiation of Earth • Whole set of testing for micro satellites: • Functional tests • Electrical tests

  12. Yuzhmash Technologies:Landing Gear facilities • For the production of the landing gear assemblies made from titanium VT-22 YUZHMASH uses welding on electrical ray unit in vacuum with further thermal treatment of the joints

Possible directions for joint work • Type 1: Manufacturing of details or units • High pressure bottles (from Ti) • Valves for work in wide range of environment (for cryogenic temperatures and corrosive medium (hypergolic propellant)) • Welding of heat-strengthened alloys from aluminum • Bellows • Large-dimension measurement tools and accessories • Bi-metal structures (Ti + stainless steel) • Type 2: Services for adjustment of technologies • Development of radiation protection materials (joint program with Dnepropetrovsk State University) • Technologies of obtaining water-atomized aluminum alloy (joint program with Dnepropetrovsk State University) • Type 3: Creation of Joint Venture for production of products developed by potential customer • Yuzhmash can make its in-kind by providing the production facilities
