  2. Plot Summary Set against a futuristic British landscape, V for Vendetta tells the story of a young woman named Evey Hammond, who is rescued by form the british police by a vigilante named “V”. V destroys two major landmarks and takes over the main British television station in order to orchestrate a rebellion. He urges his fellow citizens to rise up against the tyranny and oppression. As Evey discovers more about V’s unknown background she also discovers herself. She then becomes V’s unlikely ally in freeing Britain from their fascist government.

There is always half his face that is in the shadows and the other is white and vibrant. Purpose/Meaning: He is a vigilante they are portraying the view of both not lawful yet in the right. Agree? Why or why not? : I fully agree. The scene is powerful and yet simple. But the way the lighting is used to show his freedom side and his dark unlawful side. He stands for right but in order to get what is right he must do what is not proved as legal or ok by the general populace.

The introduction to V’s plan Type of Editing Technique: The Cut Purpose/Meaning: used to show how at the same moment there is a lot going on. Shows you the police, the people listening around the country and V in the main control room. Agree? Why or why not? Agree this is the best way to show what is going on everywhere. What is the effect of the film on populace and what is the effect to those in question. How are they reacting and what are they going to do.

Use of Film Editing Technique #2 Scene description: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQyqx1K495U The V speech Type of Editing Technique: The Wipe Purpose/Meaning: The camera changes with the swipe of his knife. Agree? You follow the swish of the blade, as it strikes the brick you follow the blade down and then the screen changes and you see him put it in his belt. The change is done with the downward swipe of the knife. Hence wiping that shot away.

Type of Editing Technique: The Montage Purpose/Meaning: To show all the events leading up to the final explosion Agree? Why or why not? Great way to showing everything that happened and why this moment is needed and intense. Recaps everything that was touched on in the movie. It is a great way to show this.

Directs your eyes where to look and who to focus on. Agree? Why or why not? : Yeah I agree with everything going on zoom is a great at this moment as it helps us focus on the individual character at that moment. Like I said this sequence has a lot going on and it helps focus you on what needs to be focused on at that moment.
