ALLHAT Drug Utilization Data • The data source is IMS, Health • Since specific indication for drug use is unknown, the data represent all indications. • Approximately three-quarters of the use is for hypertension. This estimate is stable. • For any fixed drug combination, each individual agent is counted. Thus, many users are prescribed more than one drug. • Generic lisinopril became available in the Summer of 2002.
