GOD FOR THE WORLD • The Problem • Rom 1:20; 3:18, We fail to fear God; we do not give Him glory • Rom 1:21, We have foolish hearts; deceived by the wicked world
THE WORLD FOR GOD • 1Th 1:9, We must turn away from the idols to serve the living God • 1Pt 2:17; Heb 12:28-29, We must fear God • 1Cor 15:33; 2Cor 11:3; Gal 6:7, We cannot allow the world to deceive us
CONCLUSION • God punished Israel because they exchanged the fountain of living water for some broken cisterns • God will do the same to us if we follow after Israel’s example • Knowing God’s wrath is reserved for those who follow Israel’s example, let us wise up • Let us instead turn away from the idols and serve the true and living God
