  2. Physical Changes • Rearrangement of molecules without affecting their internal structure. • For example, When you crumble a piece of paper or boil water you are not changing its molecules, only making them look different

  3. EXAMPLES • Cut • Tear • Folded • Written on • Painted • When water changes from a liquid, solid, or gas

  4. Chemical Change • Any change that results in the formation of a new chemical substance. • New matter is formed • For example: When eggs are cooked they change in structure and form from a liquid to a solid. The eggs cannot be put back into their original form.

  5. EXAMPLES • Burning • Rusting • Cooking • Film Processing • For example, when something is burned it cannot be changed back to its original form. It has chemically changed.
