StartingPoint – Why? • The change of the society and new threats, costefficiency: With increasing societal changes and increasing susceptibility to sensation, the rescue departments in the region have found that deepening cooperation in the snapshot and its sharing, combining various expertise and functions is necessary. The joint action achieves cost-efficiency and expanding the know-how. • Similarities with 4 RescueServices: The four emergency rescue operations differ slightly from each other. The situation, rescue operations and cooperation between authorities and other sectors, however, have similar legalities. • Processes and technicalsolutionarealreadyexisting: • By analyzing rescue practices, agreements and guidelines, the best possible operating model is achieved. Technical systems already exist and the project will look at the interfaces of technical systems and the possibilities for exploitation.
Target Status • JointSituation and Coordination Centre: The aim is to provide a rescue center with a joint emergency center for rescue services in Eastern Finland, a reliable and high quality security image producer on the nationwide network of safety information providers. • Support to widearearescueactivities: As a large area, ISTIKE is able to support the management of rescue operations by utilizing the special expertise of the regions. • Contactpointtowardsotherrelevantauthorities, situationalawareness: ISTIKE has an interface with the co-operative authorities and others and is a major producer of snapshots in disorder and accident situations.

ASTA-thunderstorm (2010) The shorter time-scale actions are simulated with a historical case “Asta- thunder storm (2010)”.Typical nature of convective storms are rapid development and short forecast. (Short preparation time for ISTIKE).
