Project aims • To prepare educational materials of high quality for designing and testing of timber structures that are easily accessible; • To improve abilities and qualifications, quality and accessibility of further study in the field of timber structures to professional and laic public; • To establish and deepen relations among project partners; • To create a database of timber structures and constructions for documentation of successful utilisation of timber; • To provide information on new trends in the field of timber structures and constructions; • To create a website for database and educational materials; • To translate some of the materials from English to local languages (Czech, Slovak, German, Polish) for educational purposes and self-study.
Target groups • Students of technical universities of study programmes of: • Civil Engineering • Architecture • Architecture and Civil Engineering • Members of professional chambers (ČKAIT, SKSI, ČKA…) • Participants of lifelong learning • Professional public • Potential users of project results: • Engineers of civil and materials engineering, construction companies, investors, interested public.
Project products • Handbook 1 – Timber structures (250 pages) • Handbook 2 – Design of timber structures according to EC 5 (115 pages) • Case studies – 14 case studies with basic information on the timber structures, parts of the project documentation, photos and visualization of the whole process and methodical instructions for teachers. • Instruction handbook to elaborated case studies • Database of timber constructions - will include information on various types of timber constructions built in the EU countries. • A templatefor preparing an entry into the database of timber constructions • Project website – in English and 3 local languages • Seminars on the issue of timber structures and timber based constructions • Handbooks – local language versions
