  1. Welcome To Anshin Notary Live Scan Process At Anshin Mobile Notary & LiveScan To conduct a criminal history check on applicants and licensees, fingerprints are required. Any future convictions are reported to the Board of Registered Nursing by the California Department of Justice, which keeps the fingerprints on file. • Two methods are available: • Live Scan Process: • This method requires you to use a Live Scan site located in California. The Board cannot receive live Scan results from locations outside of California. • Manual Fingerprint Process: • The manual fingerprint (hard card) method can be used if you live outside California or cannot access Live Scan.

Live Scan Process: Anshin Mobile Notary & LiveScan have a Live Scan service form available on our website, which you can download, fill out, and submit to a Live Scan site with your processing fee. You must submit your application for licensure by examination or endorsement before you fill the request form for a copy of the Live Scan fingerprint form. During Live Scan, your fingerprints will be scanned electronically and transmitted immediately for processing. Therefore, live Scan results taken outside of California will not be available to the Board. You can find the location of Live Scan on the California Office of the Attorney General website. Additionally, live Scan equipment is available at most local law enforcement agencies in California.   3. It is possible to speed up the licensing process by using Live Scan since the Board receives fingerprint results much faster than it would by manually processing cards. The RN license renewal process can be completed by those who are being fingerprinted. • By using the Fingerprint Request form, you can request a Live Scan. You will receive an email containing a link to download the Live Scan form once we receive your request and confirm your submitted application (or RN license renewal). • Complete all red Xs on the Live Scan form. • Print three copies of the form and take them with your processing fee to Live Scan. • After your fingerprints have been scanned: • The operator of the Live Scan keeps the first copy of the form. • If the Board specifically requests it, you may submit a completed copy through your account (this is not mandatory). • For your records, keep a third copy of the form.
