November MLS Sales Statistics The November 2012 MLS statistics will be released on Tuesday morning, and here are some quick takeaways: • Houston homes continued to sell at an unprecedented pace in November, plunging the supply of available properties to 4.1 months – a level last seen in December 2000. • Single-family home sales jumped 27.3 percent compared to November 2011, marking the Houston area’s 18th consecutive month of positive sales. • At $228,275, the single-family home average price reached the highest level for a November in Houston and the single-family median price of $167,000 was also an historic high for a November. • Compared to November 2011, single-family home rentals rose 16.5 percent and townhome/condominium rentals increased 18.5 percent. • For more detailed information, please visit the HAR Online Newsroom for this and all other news releases.

Given the upward progress of the 2012 housing market, many homeowners may find that their properties will be worth more next year. That's a nice change of pace for potential sellers, and for residential real estate as a whole, and is a direct result of widespread improvements in the marketplace. Most of the positive trends we have seen in 2012 should persist into the new year. Let's take a peek at what's happening locally today. In the Houston region, for the week ending December 9: • New Listings increased 2.2% to 1,529 • Pending Sales increased 39.9% to 1,342 • Closed Sales increased 4.0% to 959
