Ensure all parts of the module meet HV testing criteria for production; Check continuity, arcing, current draw; Duke oversees setups; Automation needed for efficiencies; Status: Hardware - prototype relay board operational, gas-tight enclosure in progress; Software - Bridgeview package for control.

High Voltage Testing • Requirements: • Since straws operate at ~1500 V, all parts of the module from the HV feed to the straws must be tested • Design is already validated, so this is for production testing / QC • Duke responsible for test setups at IU, Hampton production sites • Several kinds of tests: • Check continuity of traces • Check for arcing, current draw when all straw groups at HV • Same for case of one straw group at HV and neighbors at ground
Due to “burn in” and number of HV feeds per module, tests are time-consuming and labor-intensive: could be production bottleneck • Automation needed - goal is unattended operation
One relay board (three per setup) with HV cable and connector for module HV Kapton feeds
Present Status: • Hardware: • Prototype relay board operational • Proceeding with additional boards, gas-tight enclosure • Software: • Bridgeview package chosen for data collection and control
