  1. Advanced Algebra II Notes 3.2 Revisiting Slope Balloon Blastoff • Connect calculator by linking cable to the Ranger. • Press [APPS] choose CBL/CBR • Select RANGER. • If CBL/CBR is not there, press [PRGM] and in submenu EXEC, arrow down to RANGER. • Press ENTER to see the MAIN MENU and Select 1. SETUP/SAMPLE. • Set REALTIME: to No. • Arrow down to TIME(S). Enter the Number of seconds (recommended: 2) • Press ENTER. • Set BEGIN ON: to [TRIGGER]. • Arrow up to START NOW and press ENTER. • Press ENTER again for more instructions. You may disconnect CBR if you like. • Aim CBR at the rock. Begin collecting data just before motion begins by pushing TRIGGER. • Reconnect CBR to calculator and press ENTER. • To transmit the data to another calculator: connect it to the CBR, start the RANGER program, choose 5:TOOLS from the MAIN MENU, and select: 1:GET CBR DATA, Enter.

  2. Procedure: Make a rocket of paper and tape. Rocket must be large enough to hold an inflated balloon. Attach the rocket, using tape, to the straw on the string. Inflate the balloon, hold it closed (do not die it off) and when the Monitor presses the TRIGGER, let go of the balloon.

  3. Graph using the data from the CBR and STAT PLOT, graph the data with time as the independent (x) variable.
