Ingredients Bowl Distilled water White vinegar Microfibre cloth Newspaper Cotton buds or an old toothbrush
Method Combine one-part white vinegar to four parts water, then using the microfibre cloth, wipe the windows clean in a circular motion. Keep topping up your cloth with the cleaning mixture to remove as much grime as possible. Using the cotton buds or old toothbrush, really get into the nooks and crannies. Remember to keep dipping into the water and vinegar during this stage too. Surprisingly, newspaper is a fantastic material for buffing windows to remove streaks for a clear view. You might want to don a pair of gloves for this part, as some of the newspaper print could transfer onto your hands.
What should I look for with the gaskets and seals? Check for lumps and bumps that have appeared in the seals. You can gently push any lumps back in, but if you are concerned that the problem is not disappearing, contact a professional. Use an old toothbrush and hot water to gently clean – do not use anything that could potentially damage the seals, such as washing up liquid or scouring pads.
