  2. Get Ready to Sign Up! • PREPARATION: In your diary, write down 2 preferences for: • A Global Issue • CAS+E Activities for each day (Tuesday-Friday)

  3. Summer Concert Students • CAS+E Activities: NOT on Thursday • Options for Global Issues Teams • Join a team (2 extra spots for Concert Students) & help when you can • Form a ‘Save an Endangered Species’ Team of 2-6 Concert Students • Join the organising committee for final event ‘Hunger Banquet’ on Monday June 20th period 5

  4. Global Issues Team Project • Who? Groups of 12-15 students & 2/3 teachers • Where? B-building classroom • When? Each morning and afternoon Monday June 13th-17th • What? Research a global issue and raise awareness at the Global Citizenship Expo on Monday June 20th period 3 & 4 • How Research? Investigate through discussion, media, internet and interviews. Bring own device & use school ipads. • How Raise Awareness? Create classroom displays, interactive games, multi-media presentation, personal reflection, take action etc

  5. Global Issues Team Project • EDUCATION: Do girls and boys have equal opportunities? • EDUCATION: How should schools change for the 21st century? (or how use ipads effectively) • GLOBAL ISSUES: How can I help to achieve the 2030 United Nations goals? • ENVIRONMENT: Should everyone become a vegetarian? • ENVIRONMENT: What impact does eating animal products have on our planet? • ENVIRONMENT: What are the benefits and costs of using plastic?

  6. Global Issues Team Project • FAIR TRADE: How do my purchases impact others around the world? • FASHION: How to minimize my fashion footprint? What are the impacts of my clothing choices? • POVERTY: How do people survive without a home? • MIGRATION: How do individuals and communities adapt to migration? • HEALTH: How do food providers ensure health & safety? • HEALTH: How to promote fair & safe sport? • HEALTH: How to look after ourselves through moderation?

Global Issues Team Project • PEACE: How to manage conflict at an interpersonal, intercultural and international context? • PEACE: How to navigate digital dramas without losing friends, face, jobs, sleep and sanity? • ENVIRONMENT: How can we develop a green/semi sustainable campus? • ENVIRONMENT: How can I help our forests? • POVERTY: How to improve access to clean water?
