  2. Buddhism is the Foremost Ally of Those Who Are Suffering • Myoichi and her husband upheld Nichiren’s teachings despite harsh persecutions. • Those suffering the greatest hardships can gain the greatest happiness.

  3. Shakyamuni’s Final Wish:Leading Ajatashatru Toward Enlightenment • People often swing from joy to sorrow depending on circumstances. • Regret, complaint and discontent can lead to stagnation. Maintain pure, courageous faith to keep moving forward. • Human revolution is about creating lives of absolute freedom, to expand one’s life-state to embrace all hardships and sorrows.

  4. Winter Always Turns to Spring:Our Attainment of Buddhahood is Assured • Those who uphold the Mystic Law never fail to become Buddhas. • Those who chant Nam-myo-renge-kyo have an important mission to also help others actualize true happiness.

  5. The Trials of Winter Bring Forth Flowers of Victory • Only by overcoming trials can we savor victory in life. • When striving in faith, the three obstacles and four devils will arise. Buddhahood is achieved through struggle against such obstacles. • Winning comes from challenging ourselves most during the hardest times, confident of victory and the achievement of kosen-rufu.

  6. Great “Ordinary People” Dedicated to the Mystic Law • Despite loss of their fief, Myoichi and her husband remained steadfast in faith. • Ordinary people who always base themselves on faith in the Mystic Law can enter the eternally abiding state of Buddhahood.

  7. The Bonds of Mentor and Disciple Are Eternal • The mentor and disciple bond endures throughout the three existences. • This bond is forged by striving together to overcome great obstacles to realize kosen-rufu. • The Soka Gakkai is experiencing a springtime of benefit because of all efforts made based on the joint struggle of mentor and disciple.

  8. President Ikeda’s Poem Around the World, the sun rises brightly- the Mystic Law the key to radiant happiness.
