Your Son’s Checklist • Junior Meeting with School Counselor • ACT Registration - Take an ACT by the spring of Junior year. • ACT Prep Classes –Enroll in prep classes at school or other organizations if possible to boost ACT score. • College Search – Use Naviance to begin your college searching process and begin narrowing your search in the second semester of your Junior year. • Career Search – Use Naviance Career Interest Profiler to begin the process of nailing down a potential college major. • College Visits – Use the summer between your Junior and Senior year to visit potential colleges that are high on your list and get onto campuses.

  3. act • What is the ACT? • The ACT is a national college admissions examination that consists of subject area tests in: English, Math, Reading & Science. The ACT measures high school achievement and college readiness. • Test Dates • There is one testing date offered in the following months: September, October, December, February, April and June. • Cost • ACT (No Writing): $33.00 • ACT Plus Writing: $48.00 • Late Registration: Add $21.00

  4. Act breakdown The ACT includes 215 multiple-choice questions and takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete, which includes a short break.

Naviance • Naviance - is comprised of four critical dimensions: Success Planning, Career Planning, Course Planning and College Planning. • Juniors can use Naviance to aid in: • College Searching and Listing Prospective Colleges • ACT Preparation Software • Personality & Career Interest Profilers • Creating a Resume
