Using a Scanner. Start the Scan. Start the scan by going to Start – Programs – HP PrecisionScan – HP PrecisionScan or by pressing the scan button. Select What You Want. Select the region to scan by clicking on the Select Tool and dragging with the mouse.

Select What You Want Select the region to scan by clicking on the Select Tool and dragging with the mouse. The space inside the dotted boundary will be saved as the image. MSET 365
Set the Resolution Click on the Settings tab and set the resolution. DPI (dots per inch) is set dependent on intended use, in general: lower for web; higher for print. Lower for big things, higher for small things. MSET 365
Set the Resolution 75 dpi: 23.5 kilobytes or 24,134 bytes 500 dpi: 1.01 megabytes or 1,063,974 bytes MSET 365
Set the Resolution 300 dpi MSET 365
Set the Resolution 25 dpi: 168 kilobytes or 173,046 bytes 150 dpi: 5.8 megabytes or 6,170,700 bytes MSET 365
