Inputs for Gujarat Weather Watch – 01 August 2014 By Atmospheric Sciences Division Space Applications Centre, ISRO Ahmedabad SUMMARY • Today’s INSAT-3D rainfall and IR images suggest that monsoon is very active over Saurashtra and south Gujarat regions. • WRF model forecast suggests that widespread rainfall may be expected over most parts of Gujarat in next 1-2 days. Monsoon is likely to be active over south Gujarat in next 1-2 days.

  2. INSAT-3D Heavy Rainfall Alert 01-08-2014 0530 IST Monsoon is vigorous over Saurashtra region. INSAT-3D heavy rainfall alert system suggests that intense rainfall of 12 mm/hr was received over Junagadh District at 0530 Hrs today.

  3. INSAT-3D TIR2 Imagery for 0530 IST 01 August 2014 INSAT-3D IR imageries suggest that monsoon is very active over south Gujarat also.

  4. WRF model - Day 2 Rainfall forecast WRF model forecast suggests that widespread rainfall may be expected over most parts of Gujarat in next 1-2 days. Monsoon is likely to be active over south Gujarat in next 1-2 days.
