Focus on Data Quality • Expectations Are High for Quality Data • Our Users are Savvier Than Ever Before • We must look beyond the trend that only high stakes data matters in terms of its quality • Stakeholders Have High Expectations • Initiatives Such as the • Common Education Data Standards are Expanding into Postsecondary – College Readiness to be One of the First Common Data Sets and Business Drivers and have Federal support and; • Focus on Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems as an opportunity to improve future data quality

Focus on Data Quality • With Data Quality Comes Data Governance • Recognition of the Importance of the MISATFOR and WEDDAC Forums for Collaborative Opportunities • Opportunities to Engage in Business Requirements Solutions, • Data Collection Initiatives • Keeping abreast of Legislative and Policy Changes and Implications

Research and Data Projects Submitting Requests • Request Early! • Alert Your IR Department of the Need to Request Early; • Resource Allocation – Is Tighter Than Ever with the Added SLDS Activities • Provide Details of the Business Need Associated with the Project • Be Prepared for Tweaks Here and There to Accommodate Substitution Data for a Requirement
