  3. Overview of Program • Opportunity for Seniors who have not met CPE benchmarks in: • Writing Skills (English)-18 • Mathematics-19 • Reading-20 • State or National Assessments • NOT a Mandatory Assessment • Seniors may test TWICE

  4. Second Administration • Seniors may take each eligible assessment twice. • Steps: • Students receive intervention • First COMPASS® administration • Students who did not met benchmarks completed an additional intervention (MINIMUM FIVE DAYS) • Second COMPASS® administration

College Ready Status File (continued) • Includes students in the school prior to December 1 • Does not include • Students who transferred into your school/district from public, private or out-of-state schools since beginning of December • School is responsible for getting graduates (those with G-Codes) College and Career Ready Based upon State and National ACT assessments prior to May 2012

  10. College/Career Readiness Rate (continued) • Based on Grade 12 students (graduates or completers with G-Codes in Infinite Campus) • Includes best score from all ACT State and National Administrations in Kentucky • Data reviewed by schools and districts prior to fall report

Opportunities to Demonstrate Readiness • Schools provide opportunities for their graduates to demonstrate readiness • ACT – Junior year • COMPASS or KYOTE – Senior year • Career Measures – Throughout high school • Career academic (ASVAB or WorkKeys) • Career technical (KOSSA or Industry certificates)

Grade Level Assessments • The assigned grade level shall determine the state tests to administer. 703 KAR 5:240 • COMPASS®: Students must be classified as Grade 12 in Infinite Campus take COMPASS® • ACT: Students must be classified as Grade 11 in Infinite Campus take the ACT March Administration • Note: This change will increase the number of students eligible for the COMPASS® administration.

Administrator Tests “Free” Test • Using Administrator Tests • 11111 and any combination of five numbers • Once the number/name combination is used, keep using the same combination, when testing workstations or training staff. • These tests are NOT for students. • These are “live” or actual tests and should not be shared with anyone.

  26. COMPASS Next GenerationApril 18th COMPASS Announcement In the summer of 2013, ACT will release a new COMPASS test delivery system that will boost functionality and provide updated content.

Changes Coming in 2013-14 Next Generation of Assessments - COMPASS Common Core Fully aligned to the Common Core State Standards (of which ACT was a critical partner in creating) Reflect the empirically-drivenACT College Readiness Standards™ and College Readiness Benchmarks Adaptable to a state’s established learning standardsto help in ensuring all students are on the path to college and career readiness

Next Generation of Assessments - COMPASS Technology-Driven Delivered online (with a paper-and-pencil option available) Offer the benefits of technology-based assessments (including faster access to scoring and reporting of results and timely, actionable achievement data) Characterized by a variety of new and innovative assessment typesand access to immediate insights gained by using technology
