  6. A word about unclean spirits, impure spirits, demons… INTRO

  7. 21 They went to Capernaum, and when the Sabbath came, Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach. 22 The people were amazed at his teaching, because he taught them as one who had authority, not as the teachers of the law. 23 Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an impure spirit cried out,  SCRIPTURE Mark1:21-34

  8. Unclean spirits are comfortable with religion and will tolerate going to church – they are spiritual after all POINT #1

  9. When the Word of God is proclaimed under the anointing of the Holy Spirit – Hiding is more difficult. POINT #1

  10. 24 “What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!” 25 “Be quiet!” said Jesus sternly. “Come out of him!” 26 The impure spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek. SCRIPTURE Mark1:21-34

  11. Unclean spirits know Jesus and tremble with fear of Him. POINT #2

  12. Jesus commands unclean spirits, they obey, but not without a fight POINT #2

  13. Evidently they are hackers and can effect speech and other nerve response POINT #2

  14. 27 The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching—and with authority! He even gives orders to impure spirits and they obey him.” 28 News about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee. SCRIPTURE Mark1:21-34

  15. Command over the demonic is an important aspect of Jesus ministry and is given to His disciples POINT #3

  16. Evidently, Galilee was impacted by impure spirits on a grand scale. POINT #3

  17. 29 As soon as they left the synagogue, they went with James and John to the home of Simon and Andrew. 30 Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they immediately told Jesus about her. 31 So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them. SCRIPTURE Mark1:21-34

  18. 32 That evening after sunset the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed. 33 The whole town gathered at the door, 34 and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. SCRIPTURE Mark1:21-34

  19. Discernment is necessary in order to know the root of the issue at hand POINT #4

  20. Healing came by a touch – Cleansing by a command. POINT #4

  21.  He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was. SCRIPTURE Mark1:21-34

  22. Jesus is not interested in the testimony of unclean spirits but of grace-touched people. POINT #5

  23. Are we ready to embrace all of the ministry of Jesus? CONCLUSION

  24. Are we willing to experience DELIVERANCE as much as we are desiring to have HEALING? CONCLUSION
