Breakfast • Eggs=protein With about 70 calories, 6 grams of protein, and optimal amounts of all nine essential amino acids, a large egg is packed with the nutrients that kids, teens and adults need.
Types of Egg Cooking • Sunny-side up • Yolk whole, NOT flipped, cook until white is firm, 4 minutes
Types of Egg Cooking • Over-easy • Medium heat 3 min then turned for 2 min • Over-medium • Yolk partially cooked • Over-hard • Yolk completely firm
Types of Egg Cooking • Basted • Egg cooked in butter or water over low heat, liquid spooned over eggs for cooking • Poached • Add egg to simmering water
Types of Egg Cooking • Scrambled • Whisk before putting in pan, medium heat, shift in pan until it coagulates • Scrambled eggs & French toast at your KidsChoice Café! (Monday)
