  3. The US adopted the policy of Containment of Communism around the world. Marshall Plan- The US gave free Europe billions to rebuild after war. The Berlin Airlift made America look like a world leader. The Cold War Begins

  4. The US and many other countries signed the NATO Pact for mutual defense. In response, the USSR and seven other countries signed the WARSAW Pact Super Friends and Legion of Doom

  5. East Germany (Communist) separated itself from West Germany by building the Berlin Wall Anyone caught climbing over the wall would be shot. The Berlin Wall

  6. Canada and the United States enabled the Distant Early Warning Line to protect against nuclear missiles. Canada became influential, but the province of Quebec started to show discontent. Oh, Canada!
