  2. PURE AND APPLIED SCIENCE • Pure science is when it dose not have a change on humanity immediately. ex: faster cars and taller buildings • applied science is when it takes immediate effect on humanity. ex: vaccines, alternative recourses, antibiotics.

  3. INFERENCES When making an inference, you are basically stating that something happens for a reason. ex: -people drive cars to go long distances -People do sports cause they like them

  4. FAIR TESTS & IV, DV, CV • Fair test are when you only control one variable at a time. • IV: Is when you change some thing with in the experiment. • DV: What changes as a result of what you change • CV: Stays the same

  5. OBSEVATIONS When you notice some thing. ex:- people have shorts on. - there is no leaves on the tree. - the flower that are in my front yard.

  6. CONCLUSIONS Is the summary of what has happened with in an experiment. Also to tell that your hypothesis was proven right or wrong ex: In the experiment, we tested the effect on the students on the time given to complete the test. It shows that the more time that they have then the more questions will be answered. My hypothesis was proven right.

  7. GRAPHS Bar graph Shows comparison Line graph When time is involved

  8. TYPES OF STATEMENTS • Qualitative: when no numbers are stated ex: There are blue cars in the parking lot • Quantitative: when numbers are stated ex: there is 10 red cars in the parking lot

  9. MEAN, MEDIAN AND MODE • Mean: when you add all the numbers up and divide them by how many numbers there is. EX: 12345=15/5=3 • Median: is the middle number ex: 1 2 3 4 5 3 is the middle number • Mode: the number that shows up the most. Ex: 111112345567 1 shows up the most

  10. HYPOTHESIS AND THEORY • Hypothesis is a educated guess ex: if it is hotter outside then the students will run slower Theory: when something has been tested over and over and the results stay the same ex: plants go dormant in the winter

  11. CONTROLE AND EXPERAMENTLE GROUPS • Controlled: when nothing happens to that group ex: no drink • Experimental: is when something is changed with in that group ex: given a drink
