Could Cumann na mB. Organise leagues for 5th and 6th classes? Yes , making them 11 a-side and meaningful game time for all
Could a school bring along 15 players to a league game and ensure all players get to play ? • Yes as long as subs get to play on a rotational basis.
Is a school expected to bring all pupils in a class and make several teams? • Yes but again it is a local issue.
Does a mini league match consist of four quarters with change of positions throughout? • Yes but it can also consist of 3 thirds with a non scoring period.
Can a school play an ordinary match but ensure 11- aside and every child plays? • Yes but winning by a score line doesn’t count . Keeping a record of the score is of benefit for finals later.
Most 6th class are 13 ,do they have to abide by the Go Games format? • No they don’t assuming that they play in an u 13 championship.
Are finals and presentation of medals allowed? • Medals are not recommended but a final day for all players of a mini league should be organised.
Could medals be replaced with T shirts and an All Star award system? • Medals should be replaced with alternatives but all star awards are not encouraged
Does merit based funding affect Cumann na mBunscoil? • No. But it doesn’t prevent Cumann na mBunscoil introducing its own merit based funding policy.
How can GDA’s organise Go Games Blitzes with only 5 visits a year? • You need to negotiate locally to increase this allocation
Should Go games be regionally based and based on school size? • This is a local issue and common sense should be applied.
Can schools use children from 3rd –6th on league teams? • Yes . Smaller schools need the younger players to field teams otherwise Cumann na mBunscoil would weaken its influence in schools.
Do Cumann na mBunscoil leagues have to abide by GAA motion? • Cumann na mBunscoil leagues are organised according to Cumann na mBunscoil motion. Motions are not in conflict with each other.
