SmartTime Training FSU March 12 through 25, 2014
Why SmartTime? • Go paperless with electronic timesheets. • Enhance FLSA compliance for time reporting and compensation. • Enhance compliance with Office of State Personnel policies on leave and premium pay. • Utilize the Banner System used for payroll to collect and process time and leave.
Is Everything Changing? • There is no change in pay or paydays. • There are no changes in leave policies.
Is Anything Changing? • Employees will submit time on-line bi-weekly. • This is the same time-keeping schedule as hourly temp and student employees. • Employees account for their regular 40 hour schedule, and also enter extra hours worked. • SmartTime will determine whether extra hours should be compensated by straight time or time and one-half.
IsAnything Changing? Continued… • Two bi-weekly periods will be submitted to one monthly payroll. • Twice a year, three bi-weekly periods will be included. • Use the calendar you were provided to determine reporting periods, the payroll they will feed into, and the date balances will be available on the WEB.
Making It Work • Complete the paper time sheet for March 1-9, 2014. • Open your new bi-weekly WEB leave/time report before you leave this session. • Submit your leave/time reports every-other Friday before you leave campus, unless you are scheduled for weekend work. • Supervisors, we are counting on you to ensure that deadlines are met!!! • Get familiar with the SmartTime schedule so you understand when to submit reports, and when to check balances on the WEB.
