Progress so far • Deployed ORCA into BEN • Demonstrated provisioning of VLANs across BEN using ORCA • Developed drivers for BEN network elements • Developed NDL-OWL • Schema • BEN Substrate description • Developed Java-based toolkit to integrate NDL-OWL w/ ORCA • Connected BEN to NLR FrameNet via RENCI and Duke • Collaborated with Cluster D • Provided software releases • ORCA-fest • Provided integration document and future feature roadmap

  3. Challenges • Resource representation for heterogeneous substrates • ‘Stitching’ of slivers into slices • Connectivity issues • Delays in dealing with campus IT • Costs

  4. Integration progress • There is an integration document that outlines how projects of different types can choose to integrate • Code releases • Tar-ball • Off-trunk SVN • Tagged SVN • Clearinghouse will be stood up in July

  5. Backbone connectivity • NLR connectivity sorted out at two BEN PoPs • 10 VLANs available from NLR (only 2 so far remapped by Duke – work in progress) • Working on achieving I2 DCN connectivity • Aiming for a IDC demo before 10/31/09; partner unknown • Costs are involved

  6. Spiral 2 plans • Ontological resource representation • Measurements (working w/ Keren Bergman) • Wireless (working w/ Cluster E and Cluster D) • Generic solution to sliver stitching • Introducing measurement devices into BEN and adding ORCA support • Identity/trust management • Shib • Cloud substrate and control • Feature roadmap items
