Regional Leadership Conference Recap • Two New Regional Programs: • Health Awareness • Target prominent diseases in the Black community: obesity, hypertension, stress, and diabetes • Chapter and community outreach activities targeting chapter’s choice of one of the above areas • Prize for first chapter to get program online • Water Purification • Long range project, not intended to reach a final solution this year • Target is areas of southern Africa lacking pure water • Technical papers in this area requested for Professional Development Conference (great tech transfer potential) • Later efforts may involve donations of wells, water purification systems, technology development, etc.
