TecDoc criteria for vehicle identification A positive identification is required before a vehicle can be entered into the TecDoc vehicle database. TecDoc requires eight compulsory criteria for such identification: 1. Manufacturer 2. Model Series 3. Body Type 4. Drive Type 5. Engine Type 6. Engine Output (in kW/HP) 7. Technical Engine Capacity 8. Engine ID Code Apart from the above criteria, a vehicle can be described in detail by specifying the following information: Engine capacity in litre Body Type Model Generation Model Year from/to Fuel Type Number of cylinders Number of valves www.tecdoc.net

TecDoc CD/DVD copy-protection / process description • The TecDoc CD/DVD is copied • The installation of the copy runs without any problems • When the copy is started, the copyprotection asks for the original TecDoc CD/DVD • When the original TecDoc CD/DVD is not inserted, the program does not start • What does the copyprotection do? • The .exe file is protected by an encryption algorithm that changes the bit sample on each TecDoc CD/DVD. • This encryption can not be copied because the bit sample is not copyable. • When the copy should be started, the .exe is not usable due to the wrong bit sample. www.tecdoc.net
TecDoc CD/DVD online activation / process description • The original TecDoc CD/DVD is installed • The program is started for the first time • The customer is asked to insert the code taken from the booklet • The code is verified online against a server hosted in Germany by TecDoc • If the verification of the code is successful, the program is registrated and started correctly • If the verification is not sucessfull, an error message appears – the programm cannot be started • Each CD/DVD has a code in the booklet for the usage of one installation. • For multiple usages (network installations) of the TecDoc CD/DVD a code can be generated by TecDoc on customer-request. • If the system, the TecDoc CD/DVD is installed on, is not online, the code can be verified on another system and transfered to the initial computer. • The code is about 20+ digits long and cannot be cracked by present technoligies. • The whole integration demands an invest approx. 50.000.-€.
