Comparison Questions 1. Draw a table with two columns. Label the headings with the sources (A and B). Under each of the headings, list everything the source is describing (go sentence by sentence and list everything in point form for both sources). Match up the two columns and identify which points both sources agree (or disagree) about. If there is anything that one source mentions that the other is missing, take note of it (This is called a ‘ghost).
2. Write an introductory sentence. For example: ‘Sources A and B partially agree about.........’ 3. Use the table to answer which specific points agree and which disagree, and describe these points in an answer. For example: ‘Sources A and B agree (or disagree) about.....’ 4. Quote the source to support your belief on the specific points of agreement/disagreement. For example: ‘Source A states....... Source B states.....’
What is a Ghost? 5. If one source mentions something that the other does not mention at all, it is a ‘ghost’ comparison. Bring up ‘ghosts’ to get easy marks!!!!!!!!! For example: ‘Source A mentions that........ which Source B does not mention at all.’ *****then quote (obvi) ‘Source A states.......’
