  2. Who is James? • James was a nuclear chemist, that worked at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory in the heavy isotope production division.

  3. Why he’s important • In the course of several years, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory produced a number of new elements by bombarding atomic targets in an accelerator. • The research team purified and prepared target material.

  4. How he impacted the world • His company founded 3 new elements: Element 104, Element 105, and Element 110.

  5. THE ELEMENTS • Element 104: Was first claimed to have been discovered by Soviet scientists in 1964. U.S. scientists claim to have discovered it in 1969. • Element 105: Was first claimed to have been discovered by the Soviets in 1967, and by the U.S. in 1970. • Element 110: Was discovered by someone that worked for the Laboratory named GesellschaftSchuerionenforschuna.

  6. Life and Death LIFE He was born on March 26,1932 in Waco , Texas. DEATH James Andrew Harris is still alive today going strong at 80 years old.
