What is Army ROTC? Army Reserve Officers Training Corps offer: An elective curriculum students take in addition to their required college classes A chance for students to lead peers and discover their strengths Practical, hands-on leadership development opportunities Challenging, but fun, leadership experience A program that transforms students into the future leaders of our country ETSU ROTC: Making a difference—everyday.

Getting Started: “Stand-To” Week Prior to Start of Fall Semester Early Cadet move-in New Cadet in-processing Cook out Equipment issue Cadet promotion ceremony Introduction to Physical Training Freshman/New Cadet and parent orientation Cadre and ROTC course introduction ETSU ROTC: Making a difference—everyday.
ROTC Clubs Ranger Challenge: High intensity physical training and skills competition. Pershing Rifles: Synchronized marching and flag presentations Running Club: Compete in road races such as the Eastman Road Race, Crazy 8’s, Chasing Snakes, etc. ETSU ROTC: Making a difference—everyday.
Scholarship Opportunities Scholarships and Benefits: 4 & 3 year National 2 & 2½ year options (LTC, campus/brigade-based) Tuition Books ($1200/yr.) Monthly stipend of $300-500 (tax-free) On-Campus Housing Scholarship Reserve Duty & National Guard Scholarships 2-, 3-, or 3.5-year Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty (GRFD) Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) All scholarship recipients have an 8 year service obligation upon program completion 4 years Active Duty, National Guard, or Reserve 4 years Inactive Ready Reserve (IRR) ETSU ROTC: Making a difference—everyday.
What Do Successful Cadets Look Like? Minimum Requirements Successful Cadets 3.25 or higher GPA ACT Score of 24 or higher APFT Total Score of 210 with at least 70 pointes in each event Involved with sports, clubs, service organizations, etc… A.P. Level courses • 2.5 GPA • ACT Score of 19 • Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) Total Score of 180 with at least 60 points in each event ETSU ROTC: Making a difference—everyday.
