Background • Largest ever survey of the third sector. • Funded by the Office of the Third Sector (Cabinet Office); researched independently • Recognises increasingly important role the third sector plays in both society and the economy. • Presents a picture of the state of the third sector • Helps to inform local partnerships when developing local strategies to create an environment for a thriving third sector.
Based on 523 registered third sector organisations • 234 respondents (in which) • 965 full time equivalent employees • Approx 2,075 volunteers
